Palm Coast, FL – A search is underway for a wanted man out of Virginia and another man following a crash on Interstate 95 in Flagler County Friday night.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office says a “CodeRED” message was sent to residents in Palm Coast’s B section warning about these 2 men after they and a woman fled from the accident scene on the southbound side of Mile Marker 291. That’s around a mile north of the Palm Coast Parkway exit.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which happened just after 6 PM Friday, according to FCSO Commander Jim Troiano.
“We received a call at 6:08 PM of a single vehicle crash,” Troiano stated. “People who stopped by to help the crash victims notified deputies that the 3 people involved in the crash fled the scene.”
It was soon after that when deputies got a call from a resident in the “B” section saying a woman was in need of help, per Troiano.
“When deputies arrived, they located the female,” Troiano added. “Deputies with the assistance of Flagler County Fire Flight are currently searching the B section of Palm Coast for the 2 men.”
One of those men is identified as 54-year-old James Kent Booth, a white man with brown hair and brown eyes who stands 5’8 and weighs around 150 pounds. His last known address was in the Virginia city of Montpelier.
“He was wearing jeans and an unknown colored hoodie,” Troiano noted. “The other white male is only known as Mike.”
Booth also has a tattoo on his left arm, according to the Virginia Department of Corrections database. It shows that he’s wanted for escaping from Henrico County while out on work release.
Anyone with information on either man is urged to call 911 immediately.
