Daytona Beach, FL – An Asian fusion restaurant, a premium clothing retailer and a confectioner are all expected to open shop for the first time in Volusia County.
PF Chang’s, Hy’s Toggery and Kilwins have signed up for spaces at the One Daytona site currently under development across from Daytona International Speedway.
International Speedway Corporation Chief Executive Officer Lesa France Kennedy says PF Chang’s will have an approximately 5,500 square-foot space in “Victory Circle” that will have indoor and outdoor dining.
“PF Chang’s is in the upper echelon of the casual restaurant category and a key tenant for One Daytona,” France Kennedy added. “We welcome them to the community with open arms.”
PF Chang’s President Wayne Jones says the One Daytona site is an ideal location for the company’s first venture into Daytona Beach.
“We’re thrilled to enter the growing Daytona Beach market,” Jones added. “We are excited to welcome new guests to experience our unique Asian-inspired cuisine and will be a committed partner to the surrounding community.”
ISC officials also announced on Monday that Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott will become the flag brand for the boutique hotel previously announced for that development.
“The property will offer premium rooms, facilities and amenities to help travelers maintain momentum and stay balanced while traveling,” said Prime Hospitality Group Chief Executive Officer Larry Abbo. “With smart spaces and health conscious options, we will provide an upbeat, stress-free experience.”
PHG is partnering up with Shaner Hotels to create the 144-room motorsports-themed hotel that will be known as “The Daytona”. Officials say it will have a large sun deck and swimming pool, fitness facilities, free daily breakfast and free Wi-Fi.
PHG is also developing over 250 luxury apartments that should be built during later phases of One Daytona.
Hy’s Toggery – which currently has a location in Panama City Beach – is a family-owned outdoor-themed clothing company that carries brands like Guy Harvey, Columbia Sportswear, Southern Tide, Costa, Vineyard Vines, North Face and Tommy Bahama. They will have an over 12,000 square-foot space on the ground floor of One Daytona.
Kilwins – a Michigan-based confectioner in business since 1947 – will be based on the ground floor below The Daytona. The company has other locations in Florida and is known for its original recipes for items like fudge, hand-crafted chocolates, caramel apples & corn, brittle and ice cream.
Bass Pro Shops and Cobb Theatres have also agreed to open locations in One Daytona.
Preliminary construction on the nearly 190-acre property on West International Speedway Boulevard that will be home to One Daytona began last November. It’s located just north of the pedestrian bridge that has the “Welcome to Daytona Beach” sign on it.
Vertical construction on One Daytona is expected to begin following Speedweeks 2016. ISC is targeting a 2017 opening for Phase I and hopes to eventually create over 1 million square feet of residential and retail space in future phases.
