Daytona Beach, FL – A Daytona Beach woman ends up in jail after police say she attacked her elderly boyfriend when he wouldn’t give her a car.
30-year-old Kelly M. Kelsey was arrested on Madison Avenue around 1 PM Tuesday, less than 2 hours after the incident was reported to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
According to the arrest report, Kelsey’s 70-year-old boyfriend – the owner of a car dealership on Mason Avenue – told officers she yelled at him and punched him in the face after driving to a nearby McDonald’s to buy some food around 11 AM that day.
Kelsey’s boyfriend also claimed she threw her food at him after following him from his car to his office when he came back to the dealership.
The officer who responded to the call for help noted in the report that he saw security video of Kelsey throwing the food at her boyfriend and hitting her boyfriend’s 40-year-old son in the arm with a cordless phone before she walked outside, flagged down the driver of an older model black Honda accord and left the scene.
The report also noted that Kelsey and her boyfriend have been in an “exclusive romantic relationship” for the past 5 years and also live together.
Kelsey’s boyfriend led police to her after he spotted her hanging around Madison Avenue, per the report.
Paramedics checked Kelsey’s boyfriend at the scene but he refused to go to the hospital for swelling and redness under his eyes.
Volusia County Jail records show Kelsey’s held on $2,000 bond for battery on an elderly person as of 5 PM Wednesday. It also shows she’s been booked there 5 other times since July 2010 on a variety of charges, including resisting an officer, disorderly intoxication, petit theft, trespassing, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession under 20 grams.
