Daytona Beach, FL – A 25-year-old South Daytona man is cuffed and booked for breaking into at least 2 businesses in Daytona Beach so he could take an automated teller machine.

Claudious Stallings has left Volusia County Jail after he was arrested on Friday and charged with 2 counts of burglary.

The Daytona Beach Police Department says Stallings and at least one other person broke into a Sunoco gas station on North Nova Road July 9th and a Family Dollar store on Mason Avenue on July 20th.

Investigators say Stallings and the other suspect – yet to be identified at this time by DBPD – managed to get in through the front door on both occasions and tried unsuccessfully to pry into the Sunoco ATM’s money box. In the Family Dollar case, officers think he carried the ATM away.

Security video revealed several clues that eventually led DBPD to tie Stallings to the crimes, including a unique tattoo and the way he tied his shoes, according to the incident report.

DBPD is working to tie Stallings to another break-in and also believe he may be tied to several similar break-ins over the past few months in Volusia and Flagler.

Stallings was released from prison in April after serving time for similar burglaries committed in 2001, according to DBPD.
