Daytona Beach, FL – Officers are looking for a man who reportedly threatened to stab 2 female dollar store employees if they didn’t let him take money from the store.
The Daytona Beach Police Department says it happened around 9:30pm Saturday at the Dollar General on 825 West International Speedway Boulevard, just west of the Bethune-Cookman University campus.
Security video posted above this article shows the suspect approaching a female employee as she was sweeping the floor near a cash register before disappearing momentarily.
The suspect reappears 15 seconds later with another employee who opens a cash register, allowing the suspect to take money from there and from another register before leaving the store.
Investigators say the man had a kitchen-style knife at the time and threatened to stab both women if they didn’t open the registers. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is believed to have left the store with $215 in cash on a bicycle. Police think he was loitering outside the store for around 30 minutes before the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black man with brown eyes between 25 and 35 years of age, standing around 6 feet and weighing between 175 to 190 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with camouflage shorts and also has a short afro haircut and a mustache.
