Daytona Beach, FL – Officers are looking for a man who shot 4 Daytona Beach residents outside of a nightclub near Bethune-Cookman University.
The Daytona Beach Police Department believes all 4 of the victims were shot around 3am Saturday near the Biarritz Club on the corner of Pearl Street and Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard. It’s also close to Joe Harris Park.
According to the incident report, one of the victims – a 43-year-old man – told DBPD he was standing just outside of the club when he heard gunshots and then felt a bullet graze his left wrist.
Another victim – a 36-year-old man – told officers he was shot in the stomach and his left leg by a man who got into a physical fight with several other people in the parking lot around 20 to 30 minutes earlier.
Detectives believe that the shooter lost the fight and left the area, but then came back with a gun in hand and started shooting.
A 28-year-old woman also reported being shot in the left leg during that incident, while a 35-year-old man needed emergency surgery at Halifax Health Medical Center for a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
The other 3 victims were also treated at HHMC, according to the incident report.
The suspect is believed to be a short light-skinned black man in his 20’s with short spiky hair. He was wearing a white tank top and shorts at the time of the shooting.
DBPD isn’t sure what kind of gun the man was using. It’s also unclear at this time what triggered the initial fight, but officers believe none of the victims was actually involved in the fight.
Anyone with information is asked to call DBPD Detective Mosbauer at 386-671-5223 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477 to remain anonymous and possibly qualify for a cash reward.
