Edgewater, FL – Fire officials in Edgewater say the cause of an RV fire that killed a family pet and left one person hurt is under investigation. The fire was reported just before 4:30 PM Sunday at a home at 1032 Flying M Court. Crews found a large RV fully engulfed in flames next to an airplane hangar. Two people and two dogs were in the RV when the fire broke out. The people and one dog got out, but one dog died in the fire.
Fire officials say a juvenile was hurt trying to get the dogs out. He was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Edgewater fire crews also responded to a report of a pallet of materials on fire at Pro Edge at 301 Mango Tree Drive. Someone at the business was able to remove the pallet by forklift prior to the arrival of fire crews. There was some minor damage to an overhead door and storage racks. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
