New Smyrna Beach, FL-After an overwhelming response from local residents, officials in New Smyrna Beach have run out of parking decals and the city has more ordered. That comes as the paid parking in four beachfront lots starts Thursday, October 1. Assistant City Manager Khalid Resheidat says no worries, though, because a 30 day grace period is in place. Resheidat says warnings will be given out during that period in an effort to give people time to adjust to the new paid parking kiosks and for a new supply of decals to arrive.
Resheidat says, as of earlier this week, 4,437 parking decals had been given out to city and county residents. Resheidat says the demand is a sign of how popular a destination NSB is and the local county-wide love for the city.
The lots affected are 27th Street, Flagler Avenue, Esther Street and North Beach.
