Port Orange, FL – Port Orange City Council meets Tuesday night and will consider an emergency expenditure of nearly $33,000 to repair the malfunctioning pool filter at the YMCA which has closed the pool.
The pool was closed July 5 when it appeared cloudy. Examination of the pool found the sand filter had failed and needed to be replaced. The pool remained closed over concerns about possible contamination.
The agenda item for the repair says the current filter was installed in 1990.
Three vendors were approached for bids. The only bid was from Capital T. Enterprises.
Repairs, once the item is ok’ed, are expected to take up to ten days.
