Beverly Beach, FL – A Holly Hill woman is sent to the hospital following a motorcycle crash on State Road A1A in Flagler County.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office says it happened just before noon on Monday in front of the Beverly Beach Camptown RV resort on 2815 North Ocean Shore Boulevard.
FCSO spokeswoman Laura Williams says 21-year-old Miranda Leese was a passenger on that red motorcycle when it was struck by a white sedan, pinning the motorcycle underneath.
“A motorcycle slowed to allow pedestrians to cross in the crosswalk,” Williams stated. “A 2-door sedan behind the motorcycle did not slow and rear-ended the motorcycle.”
The impact threw Leese – who was wearing a helmet – off the bike, according to Williams.
“She was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler with a possible broken wrist or arm, I was told [by deputies on scene],” Williams added.
The driver of the bike was also thrown off the bike but not seriously hurt, per FCSO. He was not identified by FCSO.
The driver of the sedan – 18-year-old Stephen McKaig – wasn’t hurt in the accident but was given a ticket for careless driving, per Williams.
Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the accident, according to FCSO.
