DeBary, FL-A man told deputies he was beaten and forced into the trunk of a car overnight in a home invasion near DeBary. The man, who lives in a trailer on the grounds of the Highbanks Mini Storage, told deputies the suspects banged on the door to his home around 12:40AM and yelled his name asking for help. The business is on Sanctuary Avenue in DeBary.
The 61-year-old told deputies three men forced their way into his mobile home demanding money. One man was armed with a handgun. He told them he didn’t have any money to give them. The suspects then dragged him through his home, threw him on the ground outside and forced him into the trunk of his own car. They then ransacked his home.
The suspects eventually unlocked the trunk and then ran toa vehicle and took off. They are only described as three black males, 18 years old or younger and all were wearing masks. The victim told deputies he didn’t recognize any of the men.
The victim ran to a neighbor for help. The victim was taken to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City for treatment of lacerations.
