Palm Coast, FL – Deputies are investigating a vehicle break-in where a thief made off with thousands of dollars in diamonds.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office says it happened last Saturday night (October 17th) at a home on Fayette Lane in Palm Coast.
According to the incident report, a deputy went out to the home around 10:45pm Saturday and spoke to the 29-year-old owner of the 2007 Chrysler sport utility vehicle, who was in the home at the time.
The victim claims he had locked all the doors to his vehicle and went into the home around 10:30pm. It was around 15 minutes after that when he heard his vehicle alarm going off.
Per the report, the victim discovered when he went to check on his vehicle that the right rear passenger window was broken and that a black bookbag sitting on a seat next to that window was missing.
The report showed that among the items in the stolen bookbag were 6 Moissanite diamonds – 5 black and 1 white – valued somewhere between $4,000 and $5,000 dollars total.
Most of the rest of the report was redacted by FCSO, but it did note that deputies have no suspects at this time.
