Daytona Beach, FL – A Daytona Beach man is behind bars for threatening to shoot his sister and another person when she refused to give him money for shoes.
As of 4pm Thursday, 19-year-old Raymond E. Nattiel is held on $20,250 bond at Volusia County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
The Daytona Beach Police Department says Nattiel was arrested at his sister’s South Caroline Street home just before Noon Tuesday when an officer spotted him breaking a front window open with his hands and feet.
According to the arrest report, it was the day before when Nattiel entered the home, went into his sister’s bedroom and woke her up by hitting her in the leg while demanding that she pay back the $20 he owed her.
Nattiel’s 24-year-old sister told DBPD she didn’t owe her brother any money but did tell him that he owed her live-in girlfriend money, at which point she claims he got angry and pulled a silver-colored gun out of his pants pocket.
The report also shows that Nattiel wanted the money to buy a pair of sneakers and that he pointed the gun at his sister and at the cousin of her girlfriend – also in the home at the time – while threatening to kill them both.
Officers believe he also grabbed his sister’s hair and face and placed the gun on the abdomen of her girlfriend’s cousin and on his sister’s forehead before leaving the home through the back door.
Police arrived on scene a few minutes later but were not able to find Nattiel until he came back to his sister’s home the following day, per the report.
In that incident, DBPD says the girlfriend of Nattiel’s sister saw Nattiel coming and managed to lock the front door before he could barge inside, which is when he started banging on a front window.
Nattiel allegedly caused $125 in damage to the window, according to the report.
No serious injuries were reported.
