Deltona, FL – Deputies arrest a 41-year-old Deltona woman after she allegedly had sex with a man she had just met and then stole his rented vehicle and thousands of dollars in cash.
Jeannie M. Durham was arrested around 9am Saturday at her Corinthian Avenue home and remains in custody on $2,000 bond at Volusia County Jail as of 7pm Monday.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says the victim – a 36-year-old Deltona man – claimed she stole $6,000 in cash money and his rented black 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe after he fell asleep once they had sex in his apartment.
According to the arrest report, Durham and the victim met at Club Volcano the night before and it was after he had fallen asleep that she took the cash and keys from his pants pocket and left the apartment.
The victim woke up around 6:30am Saturday and called VCSO after discovering that Durham, the cash and the vehicle were gone, per the report.
Deputies say they found the Tahoe in Durham’s driveway and it was after she had been Mirandized and placed in the back of the VCSO squad car that she admitted to taking the money from the victim.
VCSO managed to find around $2,000 in cash hidden under a blanket on top of a dog kennel in the living room. The rest of the money was unaccounted for and Durham said she didn’t know where it was, per the report.
Durham is charged with felony grand theft auto and felony grand theft.
