Port Orange, FL – A Port Orange man is now a lot richer thanks to the Florida Lottery.
Lottery officials announced on Tuesday that 46-year-old Michael Alkins won $1,000,000 by playing the $5,000,000 Flamingo Multiplier scratch-off ticket game.
Alkins received his winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $732,904, according to the press release.
NP Discount Beverages at 5275 South Nova Road in Port Orange wins a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket to Alkins.
The $20 game has overall winning odds of nearly 1 in 3 and offers over $346 million in total cash prizes, according to Lottery officials.
