Daytona Beach, FL – One of the world’s largest retailers extends its partnership with Daytona International Speedway.

Speedway officials announced a multi-year extension with The Kroger Co. on Wednesday, a company primarily known for its chain of supermarkets and multi-department stores throughout the United States. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with International Speedway Corporation across America to our customers, our stores and our divisions,” said Mel Bomprezzi, Vice President of Grocery, Natural Foods & Multi-Cultural for Kroger. “Our Daytona 500 program now features over 100 marquee brands storewide and continues to grow.”

Among the brands under the Kroger banner is Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Harris Teeter, Jay C, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s.

Kroger will serve as the presenting sponsor of Daytona 500 Qualifying Day and conduct in-store events to promote the Great American Race.

Kroger will also receive brand exposure via sponsor signage and promotional display space at the Speedway during Qualifying Day as well as corporate hospitality opportunities during Speedweeks.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Kroger,” said DIS President Joie Chitwood III. “The 2016 Daytona 500 will be special and we look forward to working with Kroger to help us promote this historic race as well as future events.”

Next year’s 58th annual edition of the Daytona 500 will be the first following the $400 million renovation of the historic motorsports facility, also known as Daytona Rising.

Kroger’s deal also gives the company signage opportunities at other ISC-owned tracks, including Homestead-Miami, Darlington, Talladega, Richmond International, Martinsville, Watkins Glen, Chicagoland and Michigan International.

Kroger employs nearly 400,000 people to serve customers in 34 states and the District of Columbia. Besides its over 2,600 supermarkets and department stores, Kroger also operates 781 convenience stores, 327 fine jewelry stores, 1,350 supermarket fuel centers and 37 food processing plants in the United States.
