Palm Coast, FL – It’s going to be another scorching day in Flagler.
The National Weather Service issues a Heat Advisory for Flagler County until 6pm Thursday, a day after issuing a similar advisory for Flagler and Volusia.
Meteorologists say highs will be in the mid to upper 90’s on Thursday and the heat index will be around 108 to 113 degrees.
Volusia is not under a Heat Advisory for now, with highs being in the low 90’s and the heat index expected to be around 103.
Health officials advise you to stay out of the midday heat if possible, wear light colored clothing, drink plenty of water and avoid overexerting.
Health officials also say never to leave a child or pet alone in a car in these kinds of conditions since there’s more risk of heat-related illnesses like exhaustion or stroke. Anyone who sees a child or pet in that kind of situation is urged to call 911.
