DeLand, FL – The Volusia County School Board is pushing its regular meeting time to later in the day.
During an organizational meeting on Tuesday at the DeLand Administrative Complex, board members agreed to change the normal start time of their regularly scheduled meetings to 5:30pm instead of 4pm.
The change – primarily being done so that there’s more public attendance – should take effect in January 2016, according to Volusia County Schools spokeswoman Nancy Wait.
The next regularly scheduled VCSB meeting is December 8th.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting, all 5 members agreed to name District 2 Representative Ida Wright as the new Chairwoman. She replaces District 4’s Linda Costello.
Melody Johnson of District 5 was named the Vice-Chairwoman during the meeting. She replaces Wright.
