Port Orange, FL – Police are investigating after a 65-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Port Orange.
The Port Orange Police Department says it happened around 9:30 PM Friday near the area of US 1/Ridgewood Avenue and Commonwealth Boulevard.
POPD Lieutenant Scott Brozio says the driver of the vehicle – 67-year-old Louis Cunningham – wasn’t hurt.
“The investigation is ongoing,” Brozio added. “An autopsy is pending.”
The victim was identified as Noel C. Nelson of Port Orange.
POPD did not say how the accident happened but did note that Nelson was on foot at the time.
