Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood is turning up the heat to find the suspects behind a series of Pelican Bay burglaries and has increased the cash reward. Residents of Pelican Bay and the St. Andrews Highlands Homeowners Association (of Pelican Bay) have raised a $1000 reward and Chitwood has agreed to match that money for a total $2000 reward for information that leads to solving the crimes.
From February 2015 to mid-November, ten burglaries have been reported in that neighborhood. All happened in the daytime and were forced entry where only high-end jewelry and sterling silverware have been taken. Other pricey items like computers and TVs aren’t taken.
Checkbooks have been left, too.
