Daytona Beach, FL – Investigators want your help to find a man who broke into at least 5 vehicles and stole a pink bicycle in a Daytona Beach neighborhood.
All the break-ins apparently took place during the overnight hours along Dahoon Holly Drive on December 18th, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Officers were called out to the Grand Reserve subdivision around 6 AM that Friday by a resident who claimed someone broke into her car and her roommate’s.
A canvass of the area turned up 3 more vehicles that had been broken into, including 1 that had been left unlocked in a garage whose door had been unintentionally left open by the resident, per DBPD.
It was in that home, according to the incident report, that the suspect was caught on security video taking a pink Huffy beach cruiser bike and riding away.
DBPD believes all the vehicles that were broken into had been left unlocked by their owners and that the suspect was riding around the neighborhood trying car doors to see if they would open.
Among the items reported stolen was an iPad mini as well as earbuds and chargers, per the report.
The suspect is described as a black man in his early to mid 20’s who stands around 5’9 to 6 feet tall and weighs between 180 to 200 pounds. He was seen wearing a white shirt and shorts.
