Daytona Beach, FL – An autopsy on the man found floating in the Halifax River last week determined he drowned and there was no foul play.
The body of 42-year-old Wendell R. Spiker was found near the 900 block of South Peninsula Drive around 2:30 PM on December 18th.
DBPD says the body was found floating around 20 feet off-shore between the International Speedway Boulevard and Silver Beach/Orange Avenue bridges and that a Daytona Beach Fire Department was needed to get to the body.
The victim was likely in the water for some time and had no ID on him, according to officers.
The autopsy was done on Monday by the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office.
