Port Orange, FL – A 27-year-old man is held without bond at Volusia County Jail following his arrest for sexually battering a child.
John T. Scanlon was booked at VCJ by the Port Orange Police Department on 2 charges of sexual battery on a person less than 12 years of age.
POPD Lieutenant Scott Brozio says Scanlon’s arrest came 8 days after the department was told about a possible sex offense against a child.
“[POPD] conducted an investigation and found probable cause to charge Scanlon,” Brozio added.
Scanlon was taken into custody near the intersection of South Ridgewood and Dunlawton avenues on Friday, the same day POPD got warrants for his arrest.
No other details on the case have been released by POPD.
