UPDATE (01-22-16): The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been canceled for Volusia.

Daytona Beach, FL – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for most of east Central Florida – including Volusia – thanks to a storm front coming through.
The National Weather Service issued the Severe Thunderstorm Watch Friday morning and it will remain in effect until 5 PM Friday.
Meteorologists say the front is capable of strong wind gusts and waterspouts as well as a “slight” chance for a tornado.
NWS issued a Tornado Warning for east central Volusia around noon Friday but canceled the warning around 30 minutes later.
The watch also includes the counties of Lake, Seminole, Brevard, Orange and Osceola. It does not include Flagler at this time.
Authorities recommend you not go outside in these conditions and to be careful if you do, especially if you’re driving.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says nearly 1.2 million traffic crashes occur each year on wet pavement, with more than 500,000 injuries and 5,700 deaths.
