Daytona Beach, FL – A convicted Flagler County felon has escaped from a Volusia County prison and authorities are now trying to find him.
The Florida Department of Corrections issued an escape notice for 24-year-old Gary W. Bullock Jr. Friday night.
FDOC officials says Bullock – who was staying at the Community Release Center that’s part of Tomoka Correctional Institution – worked as a maintenance man at the El Caribe Resort in Daytona Beach as part of a work release program. He was last seen reporting for work at 8 AM Friday but didn’t return as he was supposed to by 5 PM Friday.
FDOC also noted that Bullock apparently removed his GPS monitor.
He’s described as a white man with black hair and brown eyes who stands 5’6, weighs around 175 pounds and has a tattoo with Japanese letters on his right arm.
Records show Bullock was convicted in 2010 on 7 different charges, all of them related to robbery, grand theft, burglary, drug possession and criminal mischief.
