Daytona Beach, FL – Get ready for some of the coldest temperatures yet so far this winter.
The National Weather Service expects a really chilly Saturday and Sunday in Volusia and Flagler counties as most of the mid-Atlantic and Eastern Seaboard gets pounded by snow.
Meteorologists with the NWS Melbourne office expect Saturday’s high in Daytona Beach to hover just below 50 degrees as the cold chases away the heavy rain that fell on Friday.

NWS predicts wind chill values as low as 26 degrees with wind gusts coming out of the northwest at up to 25 miles per hour.
Sunday should be less windy and a little warmer, with the high at 54 and the low hovering just below 40 degrees in Daytona Beach.
NWS expects the beginning of next week to be a lot warmer, with highs going into the 70’s and lows in the 50’s for Daytona Beach.
The NWS Jacksonville office issues a Freeze Watch for Flagler County from 4 AM Sunday until 9 AM Sunday as temperatures are expected to plunge below the freezing mark. Wind gusts of up to 28 miles an hour are also expected, as are wind chill values in the mid 20’s.
