Volusia County, FL - A “red flag” fire alert is in effect for Volusia and Flagler until 7 PM tonight. The Florida Forest Service issued the alert today “due to expected high winds, highly unstable atmosphere and very low humidity.”
“I know the weather is cool and there is a good amount of water on the ground, but the conditions are still ripe for fire,” said Flagler Co. Fire Rescue Chief Don Petito. “Please completely put out cigarettes in ashtrays or with water, do not burn yard waste and do not start any outdoor fires today.”
If you see fire, call 911.
