Daytona Beach, FL – A 45-year-old Daytona Beach man is thrown in jail for allegedly attacking 3 people – including his girlfriend – and kicking 2 puppies so hard that they flew across a room.

Kenneth A. Gamache was arrested around 6pm Wednesday by the Daytona Beach Police Department at the home he shares with his girlfriend. The location of the home was redacted from the arrest report.

Gamache’s 56-year-old girlfriend told DBPD she was drinking beer and watching TV at home with 2 of her friends when Gamache came in upset and kicked her puppies, sending them skidding across the floor.

According to the report, Gamache’s girlfriend yelled at him for kicking her dogs and he responded by punching her in the left eye, then punching her 2 friends in the face when they tried to step in.

Per the report, Gamache was ordering all of them to “get the [expletive deleted] out” and breaking items around the home, including a VCR, a TV, a coffee table, a window and his girlfriend’s cell phone.

Police were called to the home after Gamache went outside and started yelling at neighbors, according to the report.

Officers say Gamache’s girlfriend refused to leave the home, telling them she’s the one who pays the rent, not him.

Gamache was arrested after both of her friends – a 33-year-old woman and her 43-year-old boyfriend – backed up her story, with the boyfriend saying Gamache kicked the dogs so hard he “sent them flying” and that Gamache went outside after he threatened to grab a gun from his truck, per the report.

Officers believe the gun in the boyfriend’s truck was a Smith & Wesson BB gun and that it was never taken out or used in this incident.

Gamache refused to give a statement, telling DBPD he wanted to be left alone, according to the report. Officers say he tried to kick his way out of the patrol car and the prisoner transport wagon taking him to Volusia County Jail.

Gamache is held without bond on 2 charges each of felony witness tampering, battery and animal cruelty.

VCJ records show Gamache has been booked there 25 other times since May 2002, including last February for cocaine possession, grand theft and trespassing.

Gamache’s girlfriend and her 2 friends refused medical treatment at the scene for their injuries, according to DBPD.
