Tallahassee, FL – A judge is recommending that Flagler County’s Sheriff be fined and publicly reprimanded for various ethics violations he was found guilty of last year.
That judge ruled on Tuesday that Jim Manfre should pay $6,800 for using a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office credit card for personal purchases, driving an agency vehicle out-of-state for personal reasons and accepting a time-share gift without reporting it.
The Florida Ethics Commission also recommended Manfre pay a $19,000 fine for those violations.
Manfre – who is running for re-election – is appealing his guilty verdict and insists he broke no law or internal FCSO policy or practice in place at the time.
