Edgewater, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting to talk about a remake for part of US 1 in Edgewater.
That meeting will start at 5:30pm Tuesday at Edgewater City Hall’s City Council Chambers on 104 North Riverside Drive.
FDOT officials say the purpose of this meeting is to present the design concept of this project and to receive feedback from the public. FDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
The affected area is just over 8 miles long from South Street to Magnolia Avenue/Shangri-La Circle.
Workers plan to add sidewalks and improve drainage and signs along that stretch as well as resurface the road and make it all compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Construction is funded for this project for the 2017 fiscal year. The costs are estimated to be just over $10 million.
