Daytona Beach, FL – The mother of a 9-year-old girl is out on bond after police say she encouraged her daughter to beat up a fellow student.

Tanzania Brazel was charged with principal to child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor when she was booked at Volusia County Jail on Monday.

The Daytona Beach Police Department says it all started around 7am Monday when the 32-year-old woman’s daughter was at her school bus stop at Heron Street and Henry Butts Drive.

According to the police report, Brazel’s daughter ran back home to tell her mom that one of the kids at the bus stop had taken her backpack after she got upset at that girl for telling another child not to speak to her.

Brazel used her used her Dodge sport utility vehicle to drive her daughter back to the bus stop a few minutes later and then parked the vehicle in a way so that the bus couldn’t move while telling her daughter to find the girl who allegedly took the backpack and “knock her [expleting deleted] out”, per the report.

Investigators think Brazel also grabbed the backpack of the girl’s brother and threw him to the ground when he tried to stop the fight.

The report noted that the girl’s brother had an asthma attack while she had a bump on her head. Both were cleared at the scene by paramedics.

It also noted that the mother of those 2 children insisted on pressing charges against Brazel but didn’t want to do the same for Brazel’s daughter.

Brazel posted $1,750 bond and left VCJ soon afterward.

The report didn’t specify what school each of the girls attend.
