Daytona Beach, FL – A Daytona Beach man ends up behind bars for allegedly walking onto a school bus and threatening to blow up a high school.

Deandre K. Anderson was arrested around 8:30am Friday at Bellair Plaza on State Road A1A, close to Seabreeze High School.

The school was briefly placed on lockdown while officers searched for Anderson, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Per the arrest report, the 27-year-old Anderson got on a Volusia County school bus near the corner of US 1 and North Street earlier that morning and stayed on board until the bus dropped off all of its passengers at Seabreeze High.

From there, police think Anderson went to a McDonald’s just outside of the campus and asked a 15-year-old girl at the restaurant if she wanted to go to his house and play video games.

That girl said she refused to do that and that’s when Anderson threatened to blow the school up, according to DBPD.

An assistant principal at Seabreeze claims he spotted Anderson on the campus and then directed him off the campus after Anderson asked him about getting a copy of his high school diploma.

It was a few minutes after that, per DBPD, when Anderson was found near the Publix at Bellair Plaza and taken into custody.

When questioned afterward, Anderson denied making any threats but did admit that he went to the school to get a transcript. He also claimed that he used a Votran bus to get to the campus.

VCS has pulled the bus driver from duty pending the result of an internal investigation.

As of 3pm Friday, Anderson is held on $3,500 bond for making a false bomb report and 2 counts of trespassing.

VCJ records show Anderson has been booked there 5 other times since November 2008, including this past June for battery.
