Daytona Beach, FL – Police are looking for a man who stole at least 3 televisions – including 2 broken ones – from a store on West International Speedway Boulevard this week.

The Daytona Beach Police Department released security video Thursday of the suspect in those thefts at the Kmart on the corner of West ISB and North Clyde Morris Boulevard. That video is posted above this article.

DBPD says a balding white male in his mid 30’s or 40’s who stands around 6 feet tall and weighs around 200 pounds took a black Toshiba 50-inch LED before coming back to smash through a garage door and take the broken TV’s.

According to the incident report, the suspect entered the store around 9:30pm last Saturday (September 19th) and moved the Toshiba from the claims area to a stock room near the back of the store before leaving the store through the front doors.

It was around 20 minutes later when DBPD thinks the suspect came back in through the front doors, took the TV and left through a rear exit door that had an alarm in place.

Loss prevention workers at the Kmart didn’t notice the theft of that TV – valued at $649.99 – until reviewing security video the following Monday, according to the report.

It was 3 days after that theft was discovered when police think the suspect struck again, this time around 1:15am on Thursday morning.

According to that incident report, an officer responding to a burglary alarm at the Kmart found a garage door at the back of the store smashed open, with a rope tied around another door.

DBPD believes the suspect drove a vehicle – possibly a red Chevy Blazer – into the garage door before going inside, taking the broken TV’s and leaving the store.

Each of those TV’s is valued at around $600, with around $2,000 done in damage to the garage door, per the report.

Police think the same man committed both crimes, though he was wearing a brown shirt and pants in the first incident and a black shirt and green shorts in the second.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DBPD Detective Ousterman at oustermanr@dbpd.us or 386-671-5100. Those who want to stay anonymous and possibly get a cash reward can call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477.
