South Daytona, FL – A 27-year-old South Daytona man is locked up after admitting to investigators that he downloaded and watched child pornography.
Garrett A. Horton turned himself in around 10:30pm Monday at South Daytona Police Department headquarters on US 1, according to his arrest report.
As of 1pm Wednesday, Volusia County Jail records show Horton left after posting $150,000 bond on 10 counts of child porn possession.
A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office report shows Horton’s arrest came after an investigator received a CyberTip last May from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Through that tip, investigators discovered that 10 video files suspected to have child porn inside had been downloaded to a specific IP address and that information led to a search warrant served on July 15th at a home in Port Orange.
The address of that home was redacted from the arrest report, but it did note that a person who lived in the home was friends with Horton and that information led police to knock on the door of Horton’s home on Gaslight Drive later on that day.
When questioned by investigators, Horton admitted to viewing the images, according to the arrest report.
A forensic examination of an Apple iPod and 2 Apple computers found in Horton’s home found over 60 child porn images and videos inside all 3 devices.
An Apple iPad belonging to Horton was also forensically examined but no child porn was found inside, per the report.
