Palm Coast, FL – A Daytona Beach man is in custody for threatening to shoot the mother of his child during a fight over money.
24-year-old Shawn W. Cutrer was arrested at a home on Bruning Lane around 5:30pm Monday, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the arrest report, Cutrer called for FCSO to come to the home and told deputies that the 22-year-old mother of his child took money he needed for gasoline so he could drive to and from work.
When questioned, the woman claims Cutrer wanted money she needed for bills even after she gave him gas money and grabbed a black semi-automatic handgun when she went to grab some car seats outside of the home.
Per the report, Cutrer went outside, cycled the action on the gun and told the woman that he would “[expletive deleted] your world up and I will start with your mom”.
The woman told FCSO she went back into her mother’s home, locked the door so Cutrer couldn’t come back inside and wouldn’t let him back in the house because she was afraid of what he might do.
The report shows the woman told FCSO that Cutrer gave the gun to a friend who drove away in a black Mercury Mountaineer before the deputy got on scene, but Cutrer would not tell the deputy where his friend or the vehicle were.
Cutrer did tell deputies after he was arrested that the woman was “beating him up” and “pulling his hair”, causing him to get his gun in self-defense. He also claimed the statement he made earlier to the woman was just a “broad” statement.
As of 7:30pm Tuesday, Cutrer was held on $2,500 bond at Flagler County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm.
