Daytona Beach, FL – Authorities are trying to find a man who allegedly exposed himself to a teenage girl while both were on a public bus.
The Daytona Beach Police Department says the victim – a 17-year-old – reported it to a Votran bus driver around 7:45am on October 8th.
Still photos of the suspect were released by DBPD on Wednesday. Those photos are posted above and below this article.
According to the incident report, police believe the suspect – a black man wearing a white polo shirt with dark horizontal stripes, dark-colored shorts, a dark-colored baseball cap and beige shoes – first noticed the girl when she boarded the bus from a Votran stop on North Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach around 6:45am that day.
The girl told DBPD the man didn’t speak to her at first but did follow her when she switched onto another bus and took a seat directly across from her.
It was at that point, per the report, when the girl noticed that the man was “touching himself” under his boxers and then exposed himself to her while staring at her.
The girl claims she told the man that he was “nasty”, at which point the man followed her to the front of the bus apologizing for what he had done and begging her not to tell anyone, per the report.
DBPD believes the suspect got off the bus near the intersection of Big Tree and Nova roads and it was a few minutes later when the victim got off the bus near the Walmart on Beville Road and told a bus driver what had happened.
Officers think the suspect is between the ages of 35 and 55, stands around 5’5 to 5’8 and weighs between 110 and 150 pounds.
