Daytona Beach, FL – Over 40 of the largest country acts are coming to Daytona Beach as part of a 3-day music festival on Memorial Day weekend.

The inaugural edition of the “Country 500″ – also known as “The Great American Music Fest at Daytona” – will take place at Daytona International Speedway beginning in 2016.

The announcement was first made by Volusia County Manager Jim Dinneen during the morning session of Thursday’s County Council meeting in DeLand.

DIS President Joie Chitwood III confirmed the announcement in a press release sent by the Speedway a few minutes later.

“We’re proud to develop this new partnership with AEG Live and Festival Productions, Inc. – New Orleans,” Chitwood added. “By securing this marquee music festival with an amazing lineup of artists, we will also be known as the ‘World Center of Entertainment’.”

Among the acts already confirmed are Florida Georgia Line – featuring Ormond Beach native Brian Kelley, the son of Ormond Beach Mayor Ed Kelley – as well as Luke Bryan, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum and Willie Nelson.

Bryan is expected to be the final act on the final night while FGL will be the final act the night before. A headline act for the first night hasn’t been determined at this time.

DIS official say the complete Country 500 lineup will be released on November 3rd, with camping and VIP packages going on sale to the public the same day, including a special early bird package worth $199 that includes general admission passes.

3 specially designed performance stages will be used during the festival, all of them set up on the DIS infield.

Attendees will have the option of camping out in the infield in much the same fashion as is currently allowed for the NASCAR and Rolex 24 races.

Food booths, food trucks, carnival rides, arcade games, cooling water elements, country-and-western merchandise, and fireworks will also be part of the 3-day festival.
