Daytona Beach, FL-Passenger numbers at Daytona Beach International Airport last month were down 6% compared to the same time a year ago.

43,728 flew in or out of DBIA last month compared to 46,393 last September.

Passenger numbers compared to the same time a year ago are only down slightly according to county officials.

In a release from the county, Rick Karl, the airport’s director, said load factors continue to be very encouraging. During September, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines had an average passenger load factor of 95 percent of the seats filled. “This is the second highest monthly load factor of the year and 4 percent higher than the load factor for last September. It’s a positive sign to see the passenger demand for Daytona Beach International Airport increasing year over year. Looking at the forecasted schedules, we expect to see an increase in capacity. The increase we have been expecting begins in October and we anticipate the increase to continue into next year with JetBlue starting service in January.”
