Daytona Beach, FL – The all-clear is sounded at a Daytona Beach elementary school after a bomb threat was made.
Turie T. Small Elementary on South Street was placed on lockdown just before 11am Friday, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
DBPD Sergeant Jimmie Flynt says the threat came in via a phone call at 10:51am and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad arrived on scene around 30 minutes later.
Bomb squad personnel searched the campus for around 90 minutes, finding no threats, according to Flynt.
The lockdown was lifted at 12:55pm.
There were no students on campus because it was a teacher duty day, but teachers and school staff were evacuated from the campus.
Police will investigate in the hopes of catching the person who made the threat.
