Flagler Beach, FL – A large Flagler Beach surfing competition that almost didn’t happen will happen this weekend.
Hundreds of surfers will gather around the Flagler Beach Pier Saturday and Sunday to compete in the 16th annual Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic.
Besides the surf contest, there’s also a paddle out ceremony and a Halloween party.
All proceeds go to the foundation honoring the former Flagler Beach surfer who died in his sleep from an aneurysm at the age of 24.
Funding problems nearly canceled this year’s event.
