Daytona Beach, FL – The same man and woman arrested for robbing a Volusia County beach toll booth last week are among the 7 nabbed in the latest undercover prostitution operation in Daytona Beach.
40-year-old Angel M. Poole and 35-year-old Jeffrey T. Hunter – both of Daytona Beach – were arrested Friday night by the Daytona Beach Police Department, less than 48 hours after each of them were booked for stealing a cash-filled envelope from the toll booth at the University Boulevard beach approach in Daytona Beach. As of Noon Monday, Hunter is held on $10,000 bond at Volusia County Jail on a charge of deriving support from proceeds of prostitution. Poole is out of VCJ after posting $500 bond on a solicitation to commit prostitution charge.
According to the arrest report, an undercover officer arranged a sexual encounter with Poole through an advertisement on a website that DBPD says is used by prostitutes to find clients.
That officer claims he called Poole around 6:45pm Friday and arranged to have her come to a hotel room for a 30 minute session. The location of that hotel room was redacted from the report.
Poole and Hunter – who police believe had driven her to the hotel room in a Chevy Blazer with Illinois tags – were arrested on scene after money was exchanged, per the report.
The report notes that Poole left the hotel room at first because she felt the officer wasn’t offering enough money and because she “did not like the vibes”, but was talked into coming back by Hunter after he and the undercover officer talked on the phone.
When questioned, Hunter admitted that he planned to use the money Poole got from the officer to pay rent and that he drives Poole around to “different dates” because he has no job, according to the report.
The other 5 arrested in the operation were women who were also contacted through advertisements on the same website where Poole was found by the undercover officer, per DBPD.
One of those women – 41-year-old Jennifer K. Decoteau of Daytona Beach – is held without bond because she was on probation for grand theft at the time she was arrested for solicitation.
Another woman – 21-year-old Brittany L. Lawson of New Smyrna Beach – initially lied by claiming she was 15 years old when police arrested her, per her arrest report.
The others arrested in the Friday night operation were 29-year-old Donielle D. Carson, 26-year-old Chastidy H. Hoover and 19-year-old Destiny A. Mungen, all from Daytona Beach.
Other than the felonies against Poole and Hunter and Decoteau’s probation violation – also a felony – everyone else was charged only with misdemeanor solicitation.
