Palm Coast, FL – A 73-year-old missing man is identified as the dead body found in an abandoned Flagler County park bathroom last week.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office says a county parks employee found Richard Paquin around 12:30pm Friday at the River to Sea Preserve on Ocean Shore Boulevard, just south of Marineland.
FCSO spokeswoman Laura Williams says it appears that Paquin’s body had been there for some time due to the level of decomposition.
An autopsy done on Monday positively identified Paquin, per Williams.
“No signs of foul play were found and the death appears to be natural,” Williams noted. “However, toxicology tests are still pending [and] could take 3 months.”
A 2014 Kia Forte was also found in a secluded area at the preserve, a vehicle that FCSO believes belonged to the St. Johns County resident.
Paquin was reported missing by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office a week before his body was found, according to Williams.
