Palm Coast, FL – A select number of Palm Coast residents are about to get something in the mail.

1,400 residents have been randomly chosen to participate anonymously in Palm Coast’s annual comprehensive citizen survey.

The surveys – which are sent by mail via the National Citizen Survey group – should be arriving in mailboxes this week, according to Palm Coast Communications & Marketing Manager Cindi Lane.

“Residents are asked to watch their mailboxes and – if selected to complete the survey – to please fill it out and return it as quickly as possible,” Lane added.

Citizens aren’t allowed to request to be in the survey group, but NCS does plan to create an online survey that anyone can fill out through the City of Palm Coast website sometime in December.

“Details on how to take that online survey will be announced at a later time,” Lane said.

That online survey will be the first of its kind since NCS started annually surveying Palm Coast residents in 2002.

Lane says an online option was requested by those who don’t get chosen for the mail survey, but she admits that the mail survey will have more of a scientific approach compared to the online survey.

The survey results are used to analyze the city’s services and identify where improvements need to be made.

The results are also compared to more than 500 other local governments across the United States to give the Palm Coast City Council and other city leaders an idea of where Palm Coast stands.

NCS uses a computer program to randomly select who gets the mail survey, but the program does make sure that there’s an equal amount of representation from all 4 of the city’s districts.
