DeLand, FL-The Volusia County School Board has given the go-ahead to staff to hammer out a school uniform policy that the board will consider during its December meeting.
During Tuesday’s meeting, board members went back and forth about what the policy should and shouldn’t address including one board member getting into specifics like “no rubber” flip-flops.
The detailed discussion Tuesday highlighted the difficulty of applying a uniform policy to elementary, middle and high schools. Some things will be left to the discretion of the school principal.
