DeLand, FL – An auto parts manufacturer is about to expand in DeLand, bringing around 40 full-time jobs from California in the process.

The Volusia County Council approved a nearly $400,000 parcel purchase during Thursday’s meeting so BBK Performance Parts can expand their facility at DeLand Crossings Industrial Park.

County officials say a roughly 45,000 to 55,000 square foot building will be built on the parcel and that BBK plans to move around 40 jobs from its Southern California facility to that building once it’s ready to go.

BBK may also be creating up to 20 more full-time jobs at that facility within the next 5 years, according to the agenda item paperwork.

The land was bought by Breneast Leasing LLC of DeLand for $392,400. Breneast currently leases a 64,000 square foot facility at DeLand Crossings that’s used by BBK for warehousing and sales operations.

No other company placed a bid for that parcel, according to county records.

Thursday’s meeting was the final one for the VCC in its chambers before it undergoes a nearly $600,000 overhaul.

The VCC’s regularly scheduled meetings for December and January will take place at the Volusia County Courthouse while construction is in progress.

The chambers should be ready to go by the 1st meeting in February.
