Ponce Inlet, FL – A well-known local realtor is arrested for trespassing after allegedly stumbling into a stranger’s home while drunk.
Aswinder “Aswin” P. Suri was arrested around 4 AM Sunday by the Ponce Inlet Police Department and has since left Volusia County Jail after posting $500 bond.
Speaking to reporters after he left VCJ, Suri admitted that he thought he was in his own home – which is around 2 miles away – and apologized for his behavior.
According to the arrest report, 2 men who live at a home on the 4700 block of South Atlantic Avenue called 911 after spotting Suri “stumbling around the couch” in the living room.
Those men – along with another man who was visiting the home at the time – told police they were in other parts of the house when they heard a noise in the living room and that’s when they found Suri.
Per the report, Suri initially refused to leave the home after the men ordered him to but he then ran out of the home with his hands in the air as the men chased him down and pushed him to the ground, where he stayed until officers arrived.
The men told PIPD afterward that they think Suri got in through either an unlocked door or the garage.
PIPD officials say Suri was “belligerent” and “extremely aggressive” while in custody, telling officers that “pay back was a [expletive]” while cursing and yelling at them.
Video provided from PIPD shows Suri banging at the doors of his holding cell while officers completed paperwork prior to taking him to VCJ.
According to the report, Suri told one officer he was a “[expletive] punk ass idiot”, that he would “suffer” and that he spit on the ground at least 2 times while officers loaded him into a vehicle to take him to VCJ.
The 49-year-old was also arrested in April 2014 after allegedly throwing a wine glass at his girlfriend while drinking at the Daytona Beach Hilton Oceanfront Resort. Click here for that story.
