Volusia County, FL – Expect rough conditions if your Thanksgiving weekend plans include a trip to the beach.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory until Noon Saturday and a High Surf Advisory until 4pm Sunday.
That comes after meteorologists warned about big surf and possible coastal flooding the day before Thanksgiving, with high astronomical tides and strong easterly winds creating 5 to 7-foot surf along Volusia and Flagler’s coastline.
NWS also expects a high risk of rip currents all weekend long as tides are expected to run a foot above normal.
Having said that, the warm will stick around for the weekend, with highs near 80 degrees and lows hovering in the high 60’s. Rain chances also won’t go above 20% at any point.
