South Daytona, FL – A South Daytona couple faces a long list of felony charges after law enforcement raided their home and took thousands of dollars’ worth of drugs and guns.
22-year-olds Kayla Eaker and Daniel Harding were booked at Volusia County Jail soon after agents with the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force entered the couple’s Nottingham Road home on Friday, wrapping up months of surveillance on the home and on the suspects.
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Gary Davidson says SWAT members entered the home first after a search warrant was obtained in anticipation of potential resistance and they found Harding with a gun in his bedroom along with Eaker next to him in bed.
“He quickly dropped the gun when he observed the SWAT Team making entry,” Davidson added. “The .45-caliber Glock was one of 10 handguns agents seized from the couple’s bedroom. Another 6 rifles along with an assortment of ammunition also were seized.”
EVNTF confiscated a whole host of drugs, including approximately 210 grams of marijuana, 110 grams of hashish, a small amount of hash oil and cocaine, a refined form of ecstasy called Molly, 139 Xanax bars and a variety of prescription pills.
“Agents also recovered 104 grams of marijuana seeds, a digital scale and items such as wax paper, tubes, glass bowls, coffee filters, dab pads and a pan used to extract and manufacture hash oil,” Davidson noted.
Harding was overheard telling a relative that he had over $20,000 just in guns in the home and that he was never going to get the guns or the drugs back, per Davidson.
“One of the seized guns was reported stolen from a vehicle in Daytona Beach back in July,” Davidson stated.
2 other people were also in the home at the time but neither of them has been charged at this time.
As of 4 PM Monday, Eaker is held without bond at VCJ on prior charges of driving under the influence and a probation violation for fleeing & eluding. Harding has posted bond.
Both Eaker and Harding are charged with armed trafficking, manufacturing hashish, grand theft of a firearm and possession of various kinds of drugs.
