Bunnell, FL – A 22-year-old Palm Coast man already in jail for burglary gets 15 years in prison for raping a young girl who’s related to him.
Brandon J. Moon learned his fate during a court hearing on Monday.
Moon entered a no contest plea to lewd and lascivious battery in November after he was identified as the father of the 14-year-old girl’s baby via DNA.
Authorities believe the girl’s aunt and grandmother knew of the sexual contact and encouraged the girl not to report it to law enforcement.
Moon was given credit for time served at Flagler County Jail and his sentence will be served concurrently with his burglary sentence. He was sentenced to just under 4 years in jail on 2 counts of burglary in March 2014.
Moon will be listed as a sex offender once he leaves prison.
