Daytona Beach, FL – Investigators are looking for a group of women believed to have distracted a 69-year-old woman out of her wallet and then racked up over $1,800 in purchases with the victim’s credit cards.
The Daytona Beach Police Department released security video of the suspects on Tuesday, over 2 weeks after the incident at the Hobby Lobby store on West International Speedway Boulevard. That video is posted above this article.
According to the incident report, the suspects – 4 African-American women – worked together to take the victim’s wallet from her purse around 2 PM on Black Friday.
From there, detectives think the suspects used the victim’s credit to get cash advances at a Daytona Beach bank and racked up charges at 5 Daytona Beach retail stores.
Officers believe these same women may be involved in at least 1 other similar case in the Gainesville area.
